Rumah Makan Minang is no longer a stranger to avid food lovers in Singapore. Growing up with very frequent visits to the Arab Street area in Singapore, the cuisine at Rumah Minang has been part of weekend lunches, leaving this Fabulous Rat very, very picky when it comes to Malay/Indonesian food.

Some say that the cuisine at Rumah Minang is said to be a mixture of Malay and Indonesian. Officially, as it names goes, it offers Minangkabau cuisine, which is close to the cuisines of Malay and Indonesians. Over the years, the flavours and tastes of the spread at Rumah Makan Minang has been rather consistently good. The Fabulous Rat has never been disappointed! 🙂

Originally located in Kandahar Street, Rumah Makan Minang has a second outlet, recently opened at Our Tampines Hub. Our recent trip to Rumah Makan Minang’s new location was not disappointing, as always. From Gulai, to Opor to Belado……wished we could have more than 8 main dishes as seen above!

The Fabulous Rat Tip: As this space is not super big, to avoid the crowds, hop in for an early lunch, between 11am – 11.30am, where everything is freshly spread and you will be spoilt for choice!
