“London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down….My fair lady….”

I”m sure majority of us are familiar with that nursery rhyme tune – one of my favourites when I was a child. I still recalling myself wondering if the London Bridge ever existed. And as I grew up, I learned that the London Bridge really does exist. How exciting and since then, I’ve always wanted to see the London Bridge. That turned into reality on my recent visit to London.

Looking at the London Bridge, it really looked like a normal bricked / stoned bridge, nothing fancy but the fact that I got to see it myself somehow put things in a different perspective. Well at least my favourite nursery rhyme is explained! 🙂 The history behind the London Bridge is of course the interesting part of it all.

The more interesting / fancy looking bridge is the Tower Bridge, which is located slightly further up from the London Bridge. It is a beautiful structure which is somehow always linked to the London Bridge when it really does not have anything to do with the London Bridge at all! The Tower Bridge also has a rich fascinating history! On the whole, both the London Bridge and Tower bridge have somehow been of good use to the people of London, especially during those years when the city was continuously developing.
